Employment Opportunities

Primary Therapist – Khiron House

Full-time or Part-time Primary Therapist position for the Khiron House residential programme near Wantage in Oxfordshire.

Hours: 8-5 Monday to Friday

FEE: £243 per day (Full-time) or £199 per day (Part-time) on a self-employed contract

The successful candidate will satisfy the following requirements:

  • Degree in psychology or similar studies in behavioural or mental health.  Masters level is preferred.
  • Training in Somatic Experiencing and/or Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
  • Training in EMDR in addition to somatic training (preferred but not required)
  • Clinical experience with individuals and/or groups of at least three years is required; clinical experience with trauma patients is preferred.

Also important and strongly preferred:

  • An ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth
  • A willingness to learn the Khiron House approach to trauma treatment (may require some study outside of work hours)
  • Ability to collaborate with a team of colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills

Support Worker – Sleeping Nights – Khiron House

Principal Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • To be the point of contact to the residents, providing a safe and calm environment for them to feel supported.
  • Being able to support (not give therapy) to residents if required.
  • Ensure resident whereabouts is known at all times and escalate any issues as per policy.

Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Answering out of hours calls and messages and filtering them down to the correct member in the team.
  • Secure the building overnight, including locking all relevant rooms, turning out lights as required.
  • Handover of information from one shift to another and to relevant therapist, including completing the required handover sheet.

Health care or support worker experience preferred.

Hours for the night would be 5.00pm to 8am. You will be an available presence if a resident has a practical need or in an emergency between 5pm and 11pm. At 11pm you are on sleepover until 7am, although you would need to be available for residents throughout the night in the case of emergency. From 7am you would unlock and prepare the clinic for the next day.

Job Role

As the business is expanding, we are looking for health care assistants for the newly opened Khiron House Hospital. The role will share, together with other staff, meeting the personal care needs of residents. To be responsible for the physical, emotional and social needs of the residents, in a caring, kind and respectful manner, preserving dignity and self-respect at all times.

Principal Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • To take responsibility for the direct and immediate care of residents under the guidance of a senior member of the care staff. To carry out regular checks on residents, ensuring due regard for residents’ privacy and dignity. To answer emergency bells or calls from residents, to assess the situation and to deal with residents seeking help from senior staff when required.

Health care or support worker experience preferred.

Posts are available for day and night shifts, both full and part time. Starting salary is £20,150 per annum, pro rata. 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays. Excellent working surroundings in an idyllic countryside environment.
